Dennis W. Eader Of Southampton Dies July 28

Dennis Wayne Eader of Southampton died on July 28 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care on Quiogue. He was 81.

Eader was born on August 11, 1940 in Barbersville, Maryland, to Charles Lewis Eader and Mildred Goodale Eader, nee Brown. He was a longtime resident of Southampton having moved there in 1964.

Throughout his life, Eader worked for NSA in Maryland and Chemical Bank in Southampton. He was also a franchise business owner in Westhampton and prior to retirement he was an employee at Sears. Eader was a past master of the Masonic Lodge in Westhampton and involved in many charitable functions, most notably with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

In his spare time, he loved the beach and traveling with his wife and family, taking yearly trips to Mexico and abroad.

He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Rebecca Eader; his parents; his sister, Evelyn Simmons; his brothers, Herman and Lewis Eader; and his daughter, Cheryl Dougherty. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Zaloga (Greg) and Cathy Pinney (Rob); his grandchildren, Jessica Pinney (Jorge), Jody Pinney, Robby Pinney (Kate), Benjamin Zaloga and Jack Zaloga; his sisters, Joyce Berkoski (Bobby), Laurie Coleman (Gary), Gail Isner; his brothers, Elliot (Priscilla Diane), Nelson (Mary), Morris (Debra); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at a future time. In lieu of flowers or services, donations in his name to East End Hospice (eeh.org) would be greatly appreciated. His family wishes to extend their gratitude to R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays and the Kanas Center.
