Arline Jane Waterbury, nee Stokes, died on May 20, 2022. She was 77.
Born to Alfred Russell and Olga Eve Stokes on April 12, 1945, in Brooklyn, she grew up in North Plainfield, New Jersey, and Garden City and spent the majority of her life in Westhampton Beach.
“Beanie,” as her friends knew her, was a homemaker and later worked in the restaurant business and in real estate. She was an excellent cook and other talents included knitting, sewing, calligraphy and painting. She enjoyed socializing and had a smile that could light up the room. She had a great sense of humor and a special fondness for animals, especially dogs.
Waterbury will be remembered as a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, a loving sister, and a special and loyal friend, survivors said.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim O’Rourke and husband Edward; her son, Steven Waterbury and wife Noel; grandsons, Christopher O’Rourke and Kevin Waterbury; and a sister, Barbara Larson-Wille.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
